The photographic project “Überwintern — von Leichtigkeit und Dunkelheit” delves into the human experience of winter.
I confront my own struggles with winter while reflecting on what photography is for me; For me it’s an appreciation of life, of nature, of moments in which I feel particularly alive. Looking at the world through the viewfinder is able to penetrate the everyday veil of ingratitude and can therefore be a tool for seeing the world as it is. The act of photography for me is the practice of a life-affirming attitude. Whether seen as a literal season or as a metaphor for life‘s cycles, winter is teaching us to discover beauty in every aspect of existence.
